Overview

Nepal is one of the best international destinations for Indian group travelers — and for good reason. It offers a powerful mix of ancient temples, stunning Himalayan scenery, vibrant local culture, and thrilling adventure activities, all at a price that won’t break the bank.

Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu — Temples & Evening Aarti

Your Nepal group adventure begins the moment you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Your Travassa guide and private vehicle will be waiting to receive you and transfer you to your hotel. After freshening up, get ready to dive straight into Kathmandu’s spiritual side.

Boudhanath Stupa

Your first stop is the iconic Boudhanath Stupa — one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk around the stupa’s circular base (called ‘kora’), spin the prayer wheels, and soak in the incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The stupa is surrounded by colorful Tibetan monasteries, souvenir shops, and cozy cafés — perfect for your first group photo in Nepal!

Pashupatinath Temple — Evening Aarti

As the sun begins to set, head to Pashupatinath Temple — one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, the evening Aarti ceremony here is a deeply moving experience. Watch priests offer prayers with fire lamps as smoke and chanting fill the air. It’s a spiritual start to your trip that your group won’t forget.

  • Land at Kathmandu Airport — meet your guide & private driver
  • Check in to hotel & freshen up
  • Visit Boudhanath Stupa — walk the kora, spin prayer wheels, explore local cafés
  • Evening Aarti at Pashupatinath Temple — a spiritual experience by the Bagmati River
  • Dinner at leisure — explore Thamel for your first taste of Nepali food
  • Overnight Stay: Kathmandu

Day 02Kathmandu → Manakamana Temple → Pokhara

After breakfast, today is all about the journey — and what a journey it is. You’ll drive from Kathmandu towards Pokhara, with a special detour to one of Nepal’s most revered temples en route.

Manakamana Temple — A Blessing by Cable Car

Located in the Gorkha district, the Manakamana Temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati and is believed to fulfil the wishes of devotees. What makes this visit special is how you get there — a scenic cable car ride that rises steeply above the Trishuli River gorge, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan foothills and lush green valleys below. The 10-minute cable car ride is a highlight in itself!

After taking the blessings of Goddess Manakamana, hop back on the cable car and continue your drive towards Pokhara. The road to Pokhara is one of Nepal’s most scenic drives — winding through hills, rivers, and small villages. Arrive in Pokhara by evening, check in to your hotel, and relax.

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Drive from Kathmandu towards Pokhara (approx. 6–7 hours with stops)
  • Cable car ride up to Manakamana Temple — stunning valley views
  • Seek blessings at Manakamana Temple — one of Nepal’s most important pilgrimage sites
  • Continue scenic drive to Pokhara — views of rivers, hills, and Himalayan foothills
  • Arrive in Pokhara by evening — check in and relax
  • Overnight Stay: Pokhara

Day 03Pokhara Full Day — Sunrise, Lakes & Hidden Caves

Today is the heart of your Nepal group tour — a full day in Pokhara, Nepal’s most beautiful city. Set against the backdrop of the Annapurna range, Pokhara is a stunning mix of mountain views, tranquil lakes, ancient temples, and natural wonders. Early start required — it’s absolutely worth it!

Sarangkot — Sunrise Over the Himalayas

Rise before dawn and drive up to Sarangkot, a hilltop viewpoint that offers one of the most spectacular sunrise views in all of Nepal. Watch the sky turn golden pink as the first rays of light hit the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna, Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain), and Dhaulagiri. For many travelers, this is the single most memorable moment of their entire Nepal trip.

Bindabasini Temple

After breakfast, visit Bindabasini Temple — Pokhara’s most important Hindu temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga. The peaceful hilltop setting and the morning devotional atmosphere make this a lovely, quieter experience compared to the grand temples of Kathmandu.

Devi’s Fall

One of Pokhara’s most dramatic natural sights, Devi’s Fall is a powerful waterfall where the Pardi Khola stream suddenly disappears underground into a deep gorge. The waterfall is most spectacular during the monsoon season, but even in the dry months, the unusual disappearing-water effect fascinates visitors.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave

Directly opposite Devi’s Fall is the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave — a sacred cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside, you’ll walk through narrow passages adorned with stalactites and stalagmites to reach a natural Shiva Lingam at the far end. The cave also connects to a view of Devi’s Fall from behind the waterfall — a unique angle your group will love.

Seti River Gorge

Visit the Seti River Gorge — where the powerful Seti River has carved a deep, narrow canyon through the city of Pokhara. From viewing bridges above, you can look straight down into the milky-white glacial river rushing far below. It’s a stunning example of nature’s power.

Phewa Lake — Optional Boat Ride

End your day at the beautiful Phewa Lake — one of Nepal’s largest lakes with a mirror-like reflection of the Annapurna peaks. Hire a colourful wooden boat and row out to the Tal Barahi Temple, a small island shrine in the middle of the lake. A boat ride with your group as the sun goes down is the perfect way to close this incredible day.

  • Early morning drive to Sarangkot for sunrise over the Annapurna range
  • Breakfast back at the hotel
  • Visit Bindabasini Temple — Pokhara’s revered Goddess Durga temple
  • Explore Devi’s Fall — the mysterious disappearing waterfall
  • Walk through Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave — sacred stalactite cave with a Shiva Lingam
  • Seti River Gorge — stunning view of the glacial river far below
  • Optional: Boat ride on Phewa Lake with views of Annapurna
  • Free evening — explore Lakeside Road for dinner and café hopping
  • Overnight Stay: Pokhara

Day 04Pokhara → Drive Back to Kathmandu

After a relaxed breakfast in Pokhara, it’s time to begin the drive back to Kathmandu. The return journey takes approximately 6–7 hours, but the road is scenic and comfortable — great for catching up on group conversations, napping, or enjoying the passing landscape of hills and rivers.

Arrive in Kathmandu by late afternoon. The evening is completely free — your time to make the most of the city on your terms. Thamel is the obvious starting point, with dozens of restaurants, rooftop bars, local handicraft shops, and pashmina stores all crammed into one lively neighbourhood.

Free Evening in Thamel

Thamel is Kathmandu’s beating heart for tourists. Whether your group wants to track down the best chicken momo in the city, browse for singing bowls and thangka paintings, try local craft beer, or simply wander through narrow alleyways strung with prayer flags — Thamel has it all. This is also your last chance to pick up gifts and souvenirs for back home.

  • Relaxed breakfast and hotel checkout in Pokhara
  • Scenic 6–7 hour drive back to Kathmandu
  • Check in to Kathmandu hotel
  • Free evening in Thamel — shopping, street food, momos & more
  • Optional: Rooftop dinner with mountain views
  • Overnight Stay: Kathmandu

Day 05Departure from Kathmandu

It’s time to say goodbye to Nepal — a country that has a way of getting under your skin in the best possible way. After your final breakfast, your private vehicle will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport in time for your flight home.

Head home with full hearts, full camera rolls, and probably a shared group chat that will stay active for years. Until next time, Nepal!

FAQs

Is Nepal a good destination for a group trip?

Absolutely! Nepal is one of the best international destinations for Indian group travel. It has something for everyone — spiritual experiences, stunning mountain scenery, adventure activities, great food, and budget-friendly pricing. Whether your group is into temples, trekking, or just exploring local markets, Nepal delivers on all fronts.

What is the ideal group size for this Nepal tour package?

This package works best for groups of 4 to 12 people. Smaller groups (4–6) enjoy more flexibility and personalization, while larger groups (8–12) often get better per-person pricing. If you have a larger group, contact us and we’ll customize the arrangement accordingly.

Do I need a visa to visit Nepal as an Indian citizen?

No, Indian nationals do not require a visa to enter Nepal. A valid Indian passport (minimum 6 months validity from date of travel) or a valid Indian Voter ID card is sufficient. Citizens of other countries will need to obtain a Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu Airport.

What is the Nepal trip cost from Mumbai?

The land package starts from ₹30,000/- per person, which includes hotels, daily breakfast, private transport, cable car tickets, and entry fees. Airfare from Mumbai to Kathmandu is additional (typically ₹5,000–₹12,000 return depending on season and how early you book). The total Nepal trip cost from Mumbai for this 5-day package typically ranges from ₹35,000–₹45,000 per person all-inclusive.

Is the Sarangkot sunrise worth waking up early for?

100% yes — and we say this without exaggeration. The Sarangkot sunrise is one of those travel experiences that stays with you for years. Watching the golden light slowly illuminate the snow-capped Annapurna and Machapuchare (Fishtail) peaks from above the clouds is breathtaking. We highly recommend packing a warm jacket the night before so you’re ready to go!

Can we add adventure activities like paragliding or rafting?

Yes! Nepal is one of the world’s top adventure destinations. Pokhara in particular is famous for paragliding — you take off from a hilltop and soar over Phewa Lake with the entire Annapurna range spread out in front of you. Rafting on the Trishuli River between Kathmandu and Pokhara is another popular add-on. Just let us know at the time of booking and we’ll include it in your customized itinerary.

What should we pack for this Nepal group tour?

Pack comfortable walking shoes (essential for temple visits and nature walks), layers of clothing (mornings in Pokhara and Sarangkot can be cold), a light rain jacket (especially April–September), sunscreen and sunglasses, any personal medication, and a power bank. If you’re visiting between November and February, carry warmer woolens, especially for the early morning Sarangkot drive.

Is vegetarian food available in Nepal?

Yes, vegetarian food is widely available throughout Nepal, especially in Kathmandu and Pokhara where restaurants cater heavily to Indian tourists. Dal Bhat (lentil soup with rice and vegetables) is Nepal’s national dish and is almost always vegetarian. Momos, chowmein, and Indian-style thalis are also readily available. Your group won’t have any trouble finding great vegetarian options.

Can this Nepal trip be combined with a Bhutan tour?

Yes! Nepal and Bhutan together make for an incredible dual-country Himalayan experience. Many groups from India choose to visit both countries in one trip — flying into Kathmandu for Nepal and then onward to Paro for Bhutan (or vice versa). Contact our team and we’ll create a combined Nepal and Bhutan tour package tailored specifically for your group.
